Her research interests are drawn mainly from public policy and politics, in particular devolution, community development, rural policy, and social policy, with a particular focus on the EU and Scottish contexts.

She has a keen interest in online education and has also been involved in a recent project aimed at helping 网曝吃瓜 staff to support student mental health.
